Dr Yuxin Lim

Gynaecology
Dr. Yuxin Lim completed her medical degree at the University of Otago
in 2010 and undertook specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology
in New Zealand. She currently serves as a consultant obstetrician and
gynaecologist at Middlemore Hospital.

Dr. Lim currently leads the Colposcopy Unit at Middlemore Hospital,
coordinating the care of women with cervical and vaginal pre-cancer and cancer. She also works as an obstetrician in Middlemore Hospital,
providing high risk maternity care.

Her clinical expertise covers a broad range of women’s health issues,
with particular interests in minimally invasive surgery, menstrual
disorders, pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, menopause, colposcopy,
and cervical screening.

In addition to her clinical roles, Dr Lim is actively involved in clinical
governance and is committed to mentoring the next generation of
specialists through teaching and supervision.

Dr. Lim has published impactful diabetes research in pregnancy that led to changes in hospital practices for women in South Auckland, improving healthcare outcomes and addressing community-specific needs.

Dr Lim is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay, which enhances her ability to communicate effectively and build trust with patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. She is known for her calm,
empathetic approach and places a strong emphasis on clear, respectful
communication, patient education, and shared decision-making.
