Dr Kieran is a gynaecologist who currently works privately here at Origins as well as working at Te Whatu Ora - Counties Manukau as an obstetrician and gynaecologist. As a gynaecologist he is highly experienced across the scope of gynaecology and has a special interest in Colposcopy and gynaecology malignancies. He is a current member of the Counties Manukau Faster Cancer Treatment Team and is actively involved in clinical research as well as being a clinical lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the University of Auckland at a postgraduate level. He also practices obstetrics and is experienced in high risk labour and births and is on the board of Clinical Governance at Ormistion Hospital.

Kieran Dempster-Rivett grew up in rural New Zealand, graduating from the University of Auckland Medical School in 2008. He completed specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Waikato, Taranaki Base, and Middlemore Hospitals, followed by a fellowship at Christchurch Women's Hospital in gynaecological oncology. Kieran returned to Auckland in 2017 to work as an obstetrician and gynaecologist at Middlemore Hospital.

Kieran works with Origins as a gynaecologist providing care for all gynaecological issues. He is kind and a great listener and loves working with his patients to find a solution for their gynaecological issues. You do not need a GP referral to see Kieran and his consultations might be covered by your health insurance.

"To me, the most important aspect of providing care is to take the time to develop empathy and understanding for my patient and their concerns. This means that when embarking on a course of treatment, we do it as a team, so that women feel supported and well informed in their decision-making."
